How To Use The Extra Place Calculator
1)
In the first box enter the Each Way Back Odds for the Horse. This is the Each Way Odds on the bookmaker and you need to enter it in decimal form. You can use the odds converter to the left of the calculator if you need to get the decimal odds.
2)
Next enter the Each Way Stake that you are placing. This is half of your Total Stake and make sure you don't enter the Total Stake by mistake. Your Each Way Stake should be the value that you are actively entering on the bookmaker.
3)
Next you need to enter the Place Payout Fraction. This is determines the odds for which the place is paid out on the place part of the Each Way Bet. If you are unfamiliar with this you should read through Our Extra Place Guide.
You do not need to enter the whole fraction, just enter the denominator. This is usually either 4 or 5, and as you can see above there are buttons so you can enter these values quicker.
4)
Now you need to enter the Details of the Lay Bets. First enter the Lay Odds for the Horse to Win the Race on the Exchange. You should also enter the commission that you pay on the chosen exchange just to the right of the Lay Odds.
5)
Then for step 5 enter the Details of the Lay Bet for the Horse to Place. This should be the odds for a number of places at least 1 less than the bookmaker is offering i.e. there is an extra place.
These Odds should be much lower and again you should also enter the Commission that you pay on the exchange that you are laying the place on as shown below.
6)
All details of the Bet are have hopefully now been entered and now you should check if you are happy with the Qualifying Loss, Potential Profit and Implied Odds of the Extra Place Bet.
You should be looking for Implied Odds of 30+ assuming you have 1 Extra Place. You can go lower if you have more extra places.
7)
If you are happy with the Possible Outcomes and their payouts then you should place your bets. You should be placing 3 bets, starting with the Each Way Bet on the Bookmaker.
For the Lay Bets the Calculator tells you what Stake to Place for the Win Lay Bet and also how much to Stake on the Place Lay Bet. You can Click these stakes to copy them to your clipboard.
8)
Once all Bets are placed you can then Click the 'Log Bet' Button at the bottom to save it to Your Profit Tracker. You can also Select the Bookmaker, Date and add a Description.
You can also use the Pink Buttons at the bottom to share the Calculator with a friend, and we would appreciate it a lot if you would do this as it would be very helpful for our site.
